Currently, we are looking for a Business Solutions Analyst to join the ArcBest Technologies team. As a member, you will assist business partners within their areas of responsibility with their unique data processing system needs by researching, analyzing, estimating, preparing and implementing solutions. This position requires a robust understanding of transportation/logistics operations as well as software analysis, design, and programming skills and operates in a team environment to define systems and system design, code, test and implement software development solutions

Your contribution may include:

  • Demonstrate understanding of the business area of responsibility
  • Develop relationships with business partners to meet business needs
  • Analyze and interpret data to prepare a system definition
  • Utilize technological and problem solving skills to identify problems and determine effective and efficient solutions
  • Determine steps needed to design, code, test and implement software solutions
  • Provide estimates for stages of the development project and revisions, as needed
  • Present sound and organized solutions to business partners
  • Propose alternate courses of action when needed
  • Present results of research and analysis to leadership and other stakeholders in a meaningful manner
  • Participate in design discussions with co-workers and business partners
  • Provide regular reports, programming hours and updates to leadership
  • Collaborate in a team setting
  • Assist with various projects as team leader and member
  • Communicate the status of projects with various stakeholders
  • Research, assimilate and utilize new technology skills
  • Engage in continued learning and master new technology
  • Ensure availability with on-call hours as well as occasional irregular hours
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude and champion Company values
  • Other duties and projects, as assigned

As a Business Solutions Analyst, you will be a member of the ArcBest Technologies Information Services team in Fort Smith, AR. Your hours will be Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm, with irregular hours that may occur depending on work load.

  • Bachelor’s Degree, in computer related field of study or equivalent development experience.
  • 8+ years, software development experience.
  • Previous experience in transportation/logistics environment, preferred.
  • Prior training and/or experience in the following, preferred: COBOL, Object Oriented, HTML, MVS, Visual Basic, VB Script, VB.NET, Assembler, Syncsort, Client Server VBA, CICS, ZEKE/ZEB Technologies, TSOIISPF/SDSF, Web and PC, COM objects, JCL application design, OLAP – ESSBASE, DB2, Active Server Pages, Java Script (ASP), C#, .NET
