What you’ll do

We’re looking for an Intern, Venture Architect to join the ArcBest Technologies team. The Intern, Venture Architect works to define the value of a new venture, run and refine customer experiments to drive company growth, dive into data to explain market performance, and work side-by-side with cross-functional teams spanning product, sales, marketing, engineering, finance, and more to develop a future product.

Venture Architects are self-motivated, innovative, analytical, data-driven, and have exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills. They are generalists who are willing to roll up their sleeves and do whatever it takes to develop the new venture.

Your contribution may include:

• Support efforts to plan and deliver new ventures, products, and services.
• Research venture building best practices to advance the monetization playbook.
• Explore and analyze markets and trends in the industry for specific ventures.
• Size the existing customer market, as well as identify trends and relative positioning.
• Establish key performance indicators for venture outcomes while also defining the business model and case for new ventures, products, and services.
• Define the business model options and case for new ventures, products and services.
• Develop the economic model and business plan for new ventures, products and services.
• Create an executive summary (an overview and explanation of the project scope, objective and hypothesis) for new initiatives.
• Other duties and projects, as assigned.

As an Venture Architect Intern, you will be a member of the ArcBest Technologies Innovation Management and Strategy team in Fort Smith, AR. This is a temporary intern position. Generally, your hours will be Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm, with irregular hours that may occur depending on workload.

Education: Currently pursuing or completing Bachelor’s degree in Innovation, Engineering, Business, Economics, Design or related field, required. Currently pursuing an MBA, with an entrepreneurship/innovation focus, preferred.

Computer Skills: Strong working knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite, with a focus in Excel and PowerPoint.
