Currently, we are looking for a Technical Analyst – Application Development Support to join the ArcBest team. The Technical Analyst – Application Development Support position is an entry-level position requiring minimal previous experience. This position will conduct technology research, problem determination, cloud and on-premise System Administration, DevOps Administration, Infrastructure Architecture and Application Architecture across the enterprise. The Technical Analyst will participate as a team member in the overall support of ABTech IT Systems. This position will provide weekly status reports on projects, research, and problem determination.

Your contribution may include:

  • Act as a system administrator of various IT hardware and software systems including on-premise and cloud technologies.
  • Review, recommend, implement, and optimize software to provide infrastructure services.
  • Provide support to Information Services, Data Science, Tech R and D and Technical Services personnel including, but not limited to, systems administration, resource configuration and problem resolution.
  • Research new and emerging technologies and make recommendations for system improvements.
  • Provide DevOps solutions for on-premise, cloud and hybrid environments.
  • Collaborate with Information Security to ensure that IT security measures are in place and up to date in both on-premise and cloud infrastructures.
  • Collaborate with various teams within ArcBest Technologies on information system design and implementation.
  • Develop and support ABTech system level utility applications and applications to support internal technical services processes.
  • Establish backup and recovery strategies and procedures.
  • Develop training plans for new Technical Services personnel.
  • Other duties and projects, as assigned.

As a Technical Analyst – Application Development Support, you will be a member of the ArcBest Technical Services team in Fort Smith, AR. Your hours will be Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm, with irregular hours that may occur depending on workload.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems (or equivalent field) or equivalent experience, preferred.

Experience: Zero to two years’ experience in a related field, preferred.

Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Basic knowledge of distributed systems programming technologies like ASP.NET Web API, ASP.NET Core, or WCF. Basic knowledge of web application design and application development tools such as Vistal Studio. Basic understanding of server scripting languages such as PowerShell. Working knowledge of Linux, SQL, Python, and network technologies.
