What you’ll do
We’re looking for a Telerobotics Operator to join the ArcBest Technologies team. The Telerobotics Operator remotely operates semi-autonomous material handling vehicles (e.g. forklifts, reach trucks). This role enables ArcBest to offer labor as a service to customers of our autonomous vehicles. The Telerobotics Operator's primary focus is to perform tasks that cannot be performed autonomously such as pallet pickup and pallet put away. The work environment is in a professional office setting that primarily utilizes a steering wheel and other controls to manipulate the remote vehicle.
Your contribution may include:
- Remotely operate a semi-autonomous vehicle located in a customer’s facility.
- Pickup, put away, and/or drive the vehicle as directed.
- Follow workflow procedures specific to the customer.
- Engage and disengage freight efficiently to meet customer objectives.
- Inspecting inventory on screen for damage and faults.
- Communicate issues and adapt processes to complete job tasks.
- Be willing to take customer direction and feedback.
- Review and participate in functional testing for all system fixes, upgrades, and other systems maintenance.
- Comply with company and customer policies and legal guidelines.
- Adhere to safety management standards.
- Adhere to production schedules.
- Actively participate in quality compliance activities.
- Other duties and projects, as assigned.
As a Telerobotics Operator, you will be a member of the ArcBest Technologies Technology Research and Development team in Fort Smith, AR. Your hours will vary based on customer operating schedules and time zone. Day shift or night shift availability.

Education: High School diploma or equivalent required.
Experience: Zero to two years’ experience in a related field, preferred.
Computer Skills: Proficient in the operation of gaming and gaming simulators, preferred.
This position is hourly with an expected starting rate of $15.53
