What you’ll do

We’re looking for a Supervisor, Equipment Management to join the ArcBest Technologies team. The Supervisor, Equipment Management is responsible for overseeing the equipment management at our Indianapolis facility supporting the Technology R&D team. This role requires collaboration with Engineering, Supply Chain, Procurement, and other shop team members to ensure proper maintenance, delivery, fabrication, and installation of equipment. Execute other complex equipment projects as needed. This position provides management with updates on the progress of current projects and presents improvements for various areas of the Company.

Your contribution may include:

  • Provide Leadership to the assigned specialists as well as supervision over shop and inventory activities.
  • Communicate with leadership regarding progress and possible roadblocks.
  • Work with various department leaders on strategic and cross division opportunities.
  • Perform maintenance and quality audits, as assigned.
  • Work with Procurement to ready shipments as needed.
  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge of and ability in electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to shop team members through the day-to-day tasks.
  • Conduct regularly scheduled preventive maintenance and inspections of equipment.
  • Schedule and collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and fabricate solutions on various complex projects.
  • Design and produce jigs and fixtures to ensure the equipment maintains conformity and meets appropriate quality standards.
  • Read and understand blueprints, CAD generated prints, rules, product schematics, general shop drawings, and assembly instructions.
  • Test and troubleshoot possible issues with products to minimize problems or recalls and report malfunctions.
  • Operate all standard machine tools, including attachments and tooling, with skill, imagination, and minimal supervision.
  • Utilize measuring equipment such as a tape measure, calipers, veneers, and angle finder.
  • Maintain and update inventory level of equipment and assets.
  • Perform bench and layout work, fabrication setup, and paint spraying.
  • Enforce established safety policies and procedures in daily work activity.
  • Maintain a positive attitude in a highly intense, yet rewarding, environment.
  • Other duties and projects, as assigned.

As a Supervisor, Equipment Management, you will be a member of the ArcBest Technologies Research and Development team.   This role is located in Indianapolis, IN.  Your hours will be Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm, with irregular hours that may occur depending on workload.

Education: Bachelor’s degree, preferred.

Experience: Minimum, five years’ technical experience, preferred.

Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
